by Chris Madsen

The Apogee Instruments-Campbell Scientific Lecture series at Utah State University is honored to host Marc van Iersel for the PSC seminar on Monday, 26 March, 2018 at 3:30 PM at Huntsman Hall, room 270. He will discuss recent studies on the synergistic effects of light quality on photosynthetic efficiency. We hope to see you there!

Marc van Iersel has had a distinguished career synthesizing knowledge from numerous disciplines. He did Postdoctoral research in the Crop Physiology Laboratory at USU from 1992 to 1994 prior to becoming a faculty member at the University of Georgia, where he is currently the Dooley Professor of Horticulture.

He has made innovative use of photosynthetic gas exchange techniques with both single leaves and whole-plant canopies. His recent work has focused on quantifying the value of far-red photons in photosynthesis.
